His research focuses on human factors, biomechanics, and human\u2013AI teaming, with applications in workplace safety, robotics, and aging. His work has been supported by agencies including the NSF, USDA, CDC, DOT and NIST. Dr. Hu teaches courses in occupational safety, human factors, and quality and systems engineering. As a faculty member in the Department of Marketing at the University of Florida\u2019s Warrington College of Business, he teaches courses in Marketing Management and Professional Selling, where he combines academic rigor with practical insights drawn from leading organizations across multiple industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Swann holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Florida, a Master of Statistics from Rutgers University, a Master of Operations Research from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and English Secondary Education from Auburn University. His research interests include consumer decision-making, customer analytics, and the impact of personality traits on cross-functional business teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before entering academia, Dr. Swann built a distinguished corporate career spanning the casino gaming and hospitality, energy, retail, software, defense, and marketing services industries. His executive leadership roles have included Vice President of CRM at Penn Entertainment, one of the largest gaming and entertainment companies in the United States; Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Superior Plus Energy Services; and Senior Industry Sales Consultant for Gaming and Hospitality at SAS, the global leader in advanced analytics software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his corporate leadership experience, Dr. Swann has advised organizations on marketing strategy, customer analytics, and business growth through his consulting practice. His client work has included projects with organizations such as the NFL, Fabletics, Tulalip Resort Casino, Google, Meta, and Merrill Lynch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Swann\u2019s teaching philosophy centers on bridging marketing theory and managerial practice.
