Upon the recommendation of the 1998 Visiting Committee, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida instituted its first external Advisory Board in the fall of 1999. The Board is comprised of industrial, government and academic members with vested interests in the department, programs and graduates.
Mission
The mission of the ISE Advisory Board is to provide independent, constructive assessment of the Department programs and activities, including faculty, curricula, students, administration, facilities and equipment, and alumni and industrial relations. In addition, the Board members will be advocates of the Department to the College, University, Trustees and Legislature and will be proactive in helping the Department acquire resources, recruit students, and provide career opportunities for ISE graduates.

Purpose
The purpose of the ISE Advisory Board is to:
- Provide input and guidance on the Department’s strategic plan.
- Provide input to the graduate and undergraduate curricula in terms of degrees, majors, minors, courses, and course sequencing.
- Provide input into relevant student activities and external coursework that would benefit a student’s UF experience.
- Provide support for the Department in the form of internship and co-op opportunities, graduate and undergraduate research experiences, senior projects, speakers (seminar, class or banquet), equipment, and/or research funding.
- Foster development activities in support of the department.
- Support the Department through increased awareness of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida.

Paul & Heidi Brown Endowed Professorship
Former CEO of FirstHealth of the Carolinas, a private, non-profit healthcare system with a billion-dollar revenue budget and multiple locations through North Carolina. There, Frock was responsible for moving FirstHealth to the forefront of regional health care delivery. Through Chuck’s leadership, FirstHealth carried out several multimillion-dollar campaigns and expanded beyond the traditional role of hospital care into such areas as hospice, dental care, community health, home care and health insurance.
Prior to FirstHealth, Frock served as the administrator of Mease Hospital and as the chief operating officer of Mease Health Care in Dunedin, FL. He also served as president and CEO of Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
Frock received his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering, with a minor in business administration from the University of Florida in 1971. He then went on to graduate school at Duke University where he received a master’s degree in health administration in 1974.

As the Global Engineering Collections and Crediting Leader, Dave is responsible for Television, Radio, and Streaming electronic measurement platforms. Key accountabilities include delivering innovative solutions to drive client and Nielsen growth, improving our quality, scalability, on-time delivery performance, and driving platform convergence.
Dave joined Nielsen in 1997 and has successfully led many critical engineering electronic measurement initiatives including time-shifted television viewing, video on demand, digital television, Internet media consumption, media monitoring, video library, Digital Advertising Ratings, and PC, Macintosh, iOS, and Android Smartphone measurement.
Prior to joining Nielsen, Dave worked for ten years in software development and engineering research at United Technologies, culminating in being named Associate Technical Fellow. Dave has a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.
