There is so much happening and expansion in ISE facilities this semester. Weeks after Dr. Herbert Wertheim toured our towering 3D concrete construction printer (of which we made a concrete UF logo to greet him), we cut the ribbon to officially establish this game-changing technology as a teaching and research tool.

New lab welcomes advanced metal 3D printing technology
April 3, 2026Hidden within a controlled lab environment, UF’s new Renishaw AM-400 brings advanced metal 3D printing capabilities to students and researchers. The laser powder bed fusion system enables the creation of complex, lightweight components while opening new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
